| Hal Neiman, Chairman
Welcome to Alpena Regional Medical Center’s Development Council’s Web Site Home Page. Most of us would find it difficult to describe what a Development Council does. As the Chairman of the Development Council let me make an attempt to explain what it has meant to me over the several years I have been privileged to serve as the Volunteer Chairman.
The Development Council’s role is to raise funds and friends for the Hospital. Many worthwhile projects never make it as a priority in the hospital budget. With limited funds, more critical activities take precedence. But with 50 plus volunteers sitting on 5 - 6 standing committees and being directed and supported by Ann Diamond, ARMC’s Development Council Director; many amazing projects are completed and many giving individuals are added to the hospital’s support group. Ann is a true professional, successfully navigating the Development Council's progress for many years.
I must mention the Comfort Care Suite, one of many projects the Development Council has proudly funded. It was designed to offer comfort and support to friends and family members of patients facing end of life experiences. The Comfort Care Suite continues to make a very positive difference during very difficult times.
If you have any interest in further information or getting involved in any way, I urge you to get in touch with Ann Diamond. You will find her contact information available at this web site.
Hospitals are critical to the life and vibrancy of every community. ARMC’s Development Council continues to enhance our hospital and our community. Please join us in this worthwhile endeavor.
Development Council Chairman
The Alpena Regional Medical Center Development Council was created in May 1994, when hospital leaders recognized that an uncertain future in hospital funding required the participation of local citizen volunteers. Their efforts help to ensure that Alpena Regional Medical Center remains at the forefront of providing state-of-the-art healthcare and diagnostics
The Development Council has set its sights on raising funds to benefit Alpena Regional Medical Center, providing educational programs for local professionals and community members and opportunities for input between citizens, industry and hospital leadership.
Members of the Development Council have raised over $8 million and helped to fund the ARMC Endowment Fund, the outpatient renovation/expansion project and construction of the Cancer Center. Over 100 community-minded individuals volunteer their time and talents to benefit ARMC and our area residents.
Annual Support Committee
The Annual Support Committee's role is to increase the number of donors to our hospital through various giving programs.
Business Relations Committee
The Business Relations Committee is responsible for establishing and strengthening relationships between the hospital and business organizations. This committee provides business communications, CEO newsletters and business service programs.
Community Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee prepares and organizes special events, offers community service programs and improves communication between the hospital and our community.
Planned Gifts Committee
The Planned Gifts Committee provides special programs for professionals, financial planning seminars and provides ongoing education in the major areas of planned giving.
Special Prospects Committee
The Special Prospects Committee serves to recognize the efforts of major donors in our area. There are a select number of individuals who are able to demonstrate their support of Alpena Regional Medical Center to a greater degree than others.
The Special Prospects Committee recognizes the efforts of those individuals as member of its Keystone Society. These members pledge $10,000 or more to Alpena Regional Medical Center.
