Alcona Health Center is a non-profit federally qualified community health center providing medical, behavioral healthcare, dental and pharmacy services. Renee Smolinski, LLMSW, is a Behavioral Health Therapist. She studied at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where she earned her Masters of Public Health and Masters of Social Work. Her professional affiliations include the Association for Play Therapy, American Counseling Association and EMDR International Association.

The clinic also offers walk-in care for non-emergency issues like fevers, earaches, coughs, cold/flu and rashes. It’s open to all ages and is staffed by a healthcare provider from the team on a rotating basis, which could be a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. It also handles minor injuries such as sprains, strains and scrapes. It’s free to use, but patients must bring a valid insurance card to be seen. It’s also possible to schedule an appointment ahead of time.
